The Bowen Technique or Bowen therapy is a holistic and gentle approach to bodywork.

It aims to promote the body's natural healing mechanisms, aid relaxation, and improve overall well-being. Its non-invasive nature allows it to be applied to a wide range of conditions, including musculoskeletal issues, injuries, hormonal imbalances, stress-related problems, digestive difficulties, chronic pain, and general health maintenance. It is suitable for all ages, from babies to the elderly, and treatment can be carried out through light and loose clothing.

Bowen treatment of a young woman's head. The bowen therapy is a holistic system of healing.

The Bowen Technique works with the functionally important tissue known as fascia. It is characterised by its unique series of precise rolling movements on specific points of your body.

The session follows an alternation between moves made by the practitioner and pauses where they may leave the room. This process ultimately facilitates the restructuring of underlying tissue and supports the body's own homeostatic ability or healing response.

The results may include pain reduction, improved circulation, increased range of movement, and a deep sense of relaxation or well-being."

The number of sessions required depends on the nature of the condition(s) being treated. Your initial consultation will involve a comprehensive health assessment, and a realistic treatment plan will be discussed. Aftercare and lifestyle advice will be provided following your first session.
